PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Trickling filters are a type of biological wastewater treatment system that uses a bed of media like rocks, to remove organic matter and ammonia from wastewater. Microorganisms grow on the media, forming a biofilm that degrades pollutants as wastewater trickles through the filter. The rock media provide a large surface area and allow air flow for aerobic organisms to attach. The biofilm reduced TSS, BOD, COD and ammonia through nitrification. The water is spread onto the media by rotating distributor arms.

Alveo Water designs, fabricates and installs rotating distributors for trickling filters. Our distributors rotate freely by the hydraulic force exerted from the nozzles along the distributor arms. The rotary distributors have no motors or gearboxes and besides cleaning the nozzles and greasing the bearings are maintenance free.
